Russian antitrust may bring to account sanction-hit foreigners
MOSCOW, Oct 16 (PRIME) -- The Federal Antimonopoly Service may theoretically bring to account foreign companies which halt operations in some Russian regions due to Western sanctions against the country, Igor Artemyev, the director of the service, told reporters on Friday.
“We do not have such an intention, such a wish. If life forces us to do it, I do not rule out it. Firstly, it is very difficult to prove these things; this story is exaggerated … Secondly, they must have a dominant position on the market,” he said, admitting that the measure is likely to trigger a backlash that is why authorities must be very cautious.
